This is echoing the experiences of Luis and Mehrdad who previously posted on this issueI had a terrible experience with TopstepX on Monday, November 18th. The platform experienced widespread outages that prevented me, and many other traders, from closing positions. While Topstep reversed negative trades during regular market hours (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM CT), they completely ignored issues during extended hours. I was unable to close a profitable position, resulting in an $800 loss and the closure of my XFA account. Other traders also faced similar problems, such as being unable to close positions using the “X” button, though dragging a stop loss worked. This is clearly a software issue, not user error.Once we realized the issue, traders started sharing their experiences on Topstep’s Discord and Trustpilot, with many posting videos of the problem. Despite this, Topstep refused to help anyone who was trading during extended hours unless they provided video evidence. They claimed the problem was only widespread during market hours, which is expected given the larger number of traders during that time. This response shows they are neglecting the extended hours and their traders.I submitted screenshots and detailed complaints from other affected traders, but was told no action would be taken without a video from me. This is unacceptable, as I work in a data-sensitive field and recording could violate my NDAs, putting my job at risk.I paid $350 for combines and for a funded account, starting with a balance of $2419. Despite clear evidence that the issues extended beyond market hours, Topstep only acknowledged problems during the day. When I requested my account be restored, the only offer I received was a $49 combine reset, which would require additional payment. This is an unfair solution.Topstep should treat all traders equally, whether they trade during market hours or extended hours. If they cannot properly support extended-hour trading, they should stop offering it. I’m now requesting the restoration of my account, including the $159 fee and my original balance of $2419, as other traders who faced similar issues during market hours were compensated.

I’ve had a generally good experience with TopStep, and their trading platform, TopStepX, is excellent. However, I experienced an issue with their customer service that left me annoyed.I was copy trading across five evaluation accounts, and after hitting the profit goal on the lead account, I checked the others to confirm they had also met the target. To my surprise, one of the copied accounts hadn’t executed a single trade. While this meant I only had four passed accounts instead of five, I initially didn’t view it as a major setback until I brought it to their attention. Rather than addressing the core issue — the platform failing to execute trades on one account — I was given a lecture about their consistency rule, which was irrelevant in this case. I simply wanted a resolution for what appeared to be a platform glitch. When I requested a refund, partial refund, or even a credit for the affected account, all my requests were denied with zero explanation.To make matters worse, the last response I received from their team was unclear and confusing, leaving me no choice but to ask for escalation.Given the increasing competition among prop firms, I believe this situation could have been handled with more understanding and professionalism. While I appreciate the strengths of TopStep’s platform, this experience has left me considering other firms for future evaluations.

This is my first review for Topstep. I was happy in the past with this prop firm. On Monday 18 January TopstepX platform had a technical issue and I traded actively during US session 8.30 AM CT – 3.10 PM CT for a new $150k combine account, during the session I was strugling with the platform and as a result of the technical problem all the sudden my maximum loss was hit. I got frustraded and re set the account twice. The technical issue was not resolved and I hit the maximum loss again. That is three accounts in a row. Topstep emailed to everyone who was affected by the technical issue and to their credit, they have restored the last combine account. I emailed to support at topstep dot com and I have also posted my request on their chat window and asked them to either refund or give credit for the first two combine ($ 150K X 2). Yesterday Tuesday 19 January I spent almost 6 hours trying to chat with a human and resolve the issue. Unfortunatley I was only getting reply from their bot instead of their support team (human). I’m very dissapointed with Topstep for their poor customer service and not honoring their promise to restore all affected accounts (in my case I had three accounts affected due to TopstepX platform technical issue and Topstep restored only one account and I’m still waiting the other two accounts to be restored). I hope Topstep will do the right thing and honor their promise to restore all affected accounts on Monday 18 Jan during the US session from 8.30 AM CT – 3.10 PM CT. Also Topstep should not rely on bots to communicate with their customers and have a human to attend to their customers and resolve issues promptly. I’ll update this review once I receive an official reply from Topstep support team.This is a follow up on my previous review as stated above. I’m pleased to up date my review on Topstep from one star to five star and this is due to the fact that Topstep reached out to me and resolved my issue satisfactorirly and I’ve received one additional $150k free re set account. I’d like to thank both Amber and Caitlyn from Topstep support team who have sincerely worked with me and resolved the issue that I’ve raised. I’m currently trading one reset $ 150k combine account and nearly reached my target of $ 9,000 (my actual net P&L is $ 8,853) to pass the evaluation.

Every time if there is an issue, they will not admit it unless it’s a widespread issue, if it only affects you, that’s your problem even you have videos to prove it. And yes, they expect you to video all your trades. But if L2 says there’s no issue, you don’t get a chance.

I switched from Apex to Topsteps for its clear and straight forward rules. Overall, it’s a great prop firm and their TopstepX platform is pretty neat. Recently, I have been experiencing some outages and freezing/lagging, which did made trading a bit more stressful than necessary. With that being said, some of the specialists here are very on top of things, specifically, Porter. I have my tickets assigned to him for a few times over the course of couple of months trading with Topsteps. Each time, he provides prompt response and explains what’s happening on their end. I was a bit frustrated when I submitted my last ticket, but shortly, I saw Porter’s response and I was at ease. He explained exactly how he is going to handle the issue in a very polite and professional manner. And he also provide updates on where things are standing. After speaking with some of my trade buddies, looks like I’m not the only one who thinks Porter is the best specialist here!(My brain is a bit fried today from a choppy day of trading. But still want to take some time to write a review for Porter. Thankful for his time and effort to resolve the issues in a timely manner. )

I have a 50K express funded account and I don’t think it’s fair that you change the conditions from a trading combine to an Express funded account, since at the start of the express funded account you can only trade 2 contracts, whether they are micro or mini. It should be 2 E-minis or 20 micros so that the trader can better manage the risk. For a 50K account, the ideal is to operate with 5 micros but it is not possible, first I have to make 2K of profit and that takes several weeks with micros, and with E-minis the risk is very high. TopStep does this precisely so that the trader loses or takes a long time to make a profit. I say lose because the risk is very high if you trade with an E-mini or a large contract, and if you trade with 2 micros it will take a long time to make a considerable profit to make withdrawals. I once asked if the rules of the trading combine are the same as the Express funded and they told me that the rules are the same, but it’s not true because when I start an express account I can’t trade with 5 micro contracts, which would be ideal.Another thing that I didn’t like and that doesn’t help the trader achieve good results is that when a withdrawal is made, automatically the express funded account can’t go below $0. That is to say, if I win $1K and I’m going to withdraw $500, I only have a margin of $500 to operate or else I lose my account. These are rules that were definitely created to harm the trader and that help prevent many withdrawals from being made.

This is clearly a software issue, not user error.Once we realized the issue, traders started sharing their experiences on Topstep’s Discord and Trustpilot, with many posting videos of the problem. Despite this, Topstep refused to help anyone who was trading during extended hours unless they provided video evidence. They claimed the problem was only widespread during market hours, which is expected given the larger number of traders during that time. This response shows they are neglecting the extended hours and their traders.I submitted screenshots and detailed complaints from other affected traders, but was told no action would be taken without a video from me. This is unacceptable, as I work in a data-sensitive field and recording could violate my NDAs, putting my job at risk.I paid $350 for combines and for a funded account, starting with a balance of $2419. Despite clear evidence that the issues extended beyond market hours, Topstep only acknowledged problems during the day. When I requested my account be restored, the only offer I received was a $49 combine reset, which would require additional payment. This is an unfair solution.Topstep should treat all traders equally, whether they trade during market hours or extended hours. If they cannot properly support extended-hour trading, they should stop offering it. I’m now requesting the restoration of my account, including the $159 fee and my original balance of $2419, as other traders who faced similar issues during market hours were compensated.

I’ve had a generally good experience with TopStep, and their trading platform, TopStepX, is excellent. However, I experienced an issue with their customer service that left me annoyed.I was copy trading across five evaluation accounts, and after hitting the profit goal on the lead account, I checked the others to confirm they had also met the target. To my surprise, one of the copied accounts hadn’t executed a single trade. While this meant I only had four passed accounts instead of five, I initially didn’t view it as a major setback until I brought it to their attention. Rather than addressing the core issue — the platform failing to execute trades on one account — I was given a lecture about their consistency rule, which was irrelevant in this case. I simply wanted a resolution for what appeared to be a platform glitch. When I requested a refund, partial refund, or even a credit for the affected account, all my requests were denied with zero explanation.To make matters worse, the last response I received from their team was unclear and confusing, leaving me no choice but to ask for escalation.Given the increasing competition among prop firms, I believe this situation could have been handled with more understanding and professionalism. While I appreciate the strengths of TopStep’s platform, this experience has left me considering other firms for future evaluations.

This is my first review for Topstep. I was happy in the past with this prop firm. On Monday 18 January TopstepX platform had a technical issue and I traded actively during US session 8.30 AM CT – 3.10 PM CT for a new $150k combine account, during the session I was strugling with the platform and as a result of the technical problem all the sudden my maximum loss was hit. I got frustraded and re set the account twice. The technical issue was not resolved and I hit the maximum loss again. That is three accounts in a row. Topstep emailed to everyone who was affected by the technical issue and to their credit, they have restored the last combine account. I emailed to support at topstep dot com and I have also posted my request on their chat window and asked them to either refund or give credit for the first two combine ($ 150K X 2). Yesterday Tuesday 19 January I spent almost 6 hours trying to chat with a human and resolve the issue. Unfortunatley I was only getting reply from their bot instead of their support team (human). I’m very dissapointed with Topstep for their poor customer service and not honoring their promise to restore all affected accounts (in my case I had three accounts affected due to TopstepX platform technical issue and Topstep restored only one account and I’m still waiting the other two accounts to be restored). I hope Topstep will do the right thing and honor their promise to restore all affected accounts on Monday 18 Jan during the US session from 8.30 AM CT – 3.10 PM CT. Also Topstep should not rely on bots to communicate with their customers and have a human to attend to their customers and resolve issues promptly. I’ll update this review once I receive an official reply from Topstep support team.This is a follow up on my previous review as stated above. I’m pleased to up date my review on Topstep from one star to five star and this is due to the fact that Topstep reached out to me and resolved my issue satisfactorirly and I’ve received one additional $150k free re set account. I’d like to thank both Amber and Caitlyn from Topstep support team who have sincerely worked with me and resolved the issue that I’ve raised. I’m currently trading one reset $ 150k combine account and nearly reached my target of $ 9,000 (my actual net P&L is $ 8,853) to pass the evaluation.

Every time if there is an issue, they will not admit it unless it’s a widespread issue, if it only affects you, that’s your problem even you have videos to prove it. And yes, they expect you to video all your trades. But if L2 says there’s no issue, you don’t get a chance.

This Topstep team has been nothing but awesome and professional to say the least. I was with another funding company but decided to try Topstep last year. Since then, I have nothing but good things to say. I did pass my Combine, also, but even it I hadn’t I would still use them. They respond quickly to provide support and they have a live setting every day on YT (Topstep TV) to allow you to earn while you learn. Do yourself a favor and give them a try. You won’t regret it.

I switched from Apex to Topsteps for its clear and straight forward rules. Overall, it’s a great prop firm and their TopstepX platform is pretty neat. Recently, I have been experiencing some outages and freezing/lagging, which did made trading a bit more stressful than necessary. With that being said, some of the specialists here are very on top of things, specifically, Porter. I have my tickets assigned to him for a few times over the course of couple of months trading with Topsteps. Each time, he provides prompt response and explains what’s happening on their end. I was a bit frustrated when I submitted my last ticket, but shortly, I saw Porter’s response and I was at ease. He explained exactly how he is going to handle the issue in a very polite and professional manner. And he also provide updates on where things are standing. After speaking with some of my trade buddies, looks like I’m not the only one who thinks Porter is the best specialist here!(My brain is a bit fried today from a choppy day of trading. But still want to take some time to write a review for Porter. Thankful for his time and effort to resolve the issues in a timely manner. )

I have a 50K express funded account and I don’t think it’s fair that you change the conditions from a trading combine to an Express funded account, since at the start of the express funded account you can only trade 2 contracts, whether they are micro or mini. It should be 2 E-minis or 20 micros so that the trader can better manage the risk. For a 50K account, the ideal is to operate with 5 micros but it is not possible, first I have to make 2K of profit and that takes several weeks with micros, and with E-minis the risk is very high. TopStep does this precisely so that the trader loses or takes a long time to make a profit. I say lose because the risk is very high if you trade with an E-mini or a large contract, and if you trade with 2 micros it will take a long time to make a considerable profit to make withdrawals. I once asked if the rules of the trading combine are the same as the Express funded and they told me that the rules are the same, but it’s not true because when I start an express account I can’t trade with 5 micro contracts, which would be ideal.Another thing that I didn’t like and that doesn’t help the trader achieve good results is that when a withdrawal is made, automatically the express funded account can’t go below $0. That is to say, if I win $1K and I’m going to withdraw $500, I only have a margin of $500 to operate or else I lose my account. These are rules that were definitely created to harm the trader and that help prevent many withdrawals from being made.

They really care about the traders and topstepx is God sent because it gives you the options to make sure you dont go on tilt and the platform is user friendly.
